Konkuri gets out of Beta and takes off!

Dear Konkuri users, we’re very proud to announce that Konkuri has come out of beta stage.

This means that we will move from free-only to both free and paid services. The goal is to sustain the project and to deliver you the best service we can!

A brand new way of creating tournaments

From now onwards, a tournament will have 2 status:

Building
When you create a tournament it will be considered as “building”. A building tournament is meant to let you setup the schedule and the participants before the tournament starts.

You can create unlimited building tournaments for free.

Active
FREE PAY
1 tournament at a time
up to 8 participants.

Same features of paid tournaments.

The price of a tournament
is expressed in credits and
depends on the number of participants.

We’ve introduced some new features too:

  • Ad-free tournaments

We’ve removed advertising from all tournaments. Soon we will give you the opportunity to publish your own sponsors.

  • Organization profiles

If you’re member of an organization (like a Sport association or a Tennis center) you can create a dedicated profile to publish and archive all your tournaments.

  • 64 participants

We’ve raised the limit of participants up to 64, to let you create bigger tournaments (for knockout and groups+playoff systems).

Konkuri gets a new dress!

Konkuri gets greener and renews its graphics to add new contents.

The social networks have better visibility: you can now follow us more easily on Facebook and Twitter. Become our fan and read our latest tweet, which also appears in the footer.

In the public Home Page you will find a box with the buzz from the hundreds of blogs and online magazines that have reviewed Konkuri. It’s amazing to see how many people were eager to throw away all those sheets on which you once recorded your results!

new Konkuri home page

Then, we have built a Tournament page where you can see the latest tournaments created on Konkuri.

Finally, registered users will find in their home page the last two posts of our blog. You will be updated on new services available and you might discover that one of the latest changes has been created to satisfy your own desire!

One awesome app begging to be developed

A few days ago, ReadWriteWeb published a very interesting article: “6 Awesome Apps Begging to Be Developed”.

Guess what? The #1 application is: “Real-Time Mobile & Web Sports App”.

They say: “somebody needs to create an agnostic web and mobile application to deliver real-time data.
And then “Sports fans need up-to-the-instant scores, game developments, news on teams and players, and stats relating to fantasy league play”.

This is music to our ears. And, it sounds very familiar to some features we have in mind for Konkuri.

Matteo wrote a comment on the post, with a brief presentation of our project and philosophy.

Konkuri beta gets launched!

This is a great time for us. We’re so excited to see our tournament management web application getting real. Konkuri beta is finally online and now you too can use it to create, manage and publish your tournaments.

Before going out with the crew having some (a lot of) beers and partying, just a quick note.

Remember that this is a beta version. You might find bugs. And, you might experience slow performance on some features. If you want to help us make it work better, reporting bugs, or suggesting ideas to improve it, we will appreciate it a lot: please, use our Feedback forum.

If you are looking for a more complete version, follow the updates on our blog, or on Facebook and Twitter: you will be surprised to see how Konkuri will grow month by month.

Have fun!! And thank you in advance for your precious support.

Welcome to Konkuri!

We’re glad to introduce you Konkuri, the easiest way to create and manage your tournament.

The idea came from a personal need: we wanted to organize a tournament among friends and publish the results online.

It should have been easy in the web 2.0 era, right? Unfortunately, the experience turned into a big disappointment: in fact, all the existing solutions did not match our needs of simplicity and elegance.

We are a web agency and, at the time, we were looking for a new project to develop: fill in the blanks ;-)

So, Konkuri was born to let you:
- create and manage your tournament smoothly and easily;
- have a beautiful and usable tournament website.

We are planning to launch in June 2009, so stay tuned!
